Led an intensive masterclass for Juilliard’s conducting students, focusing on gesture economy, score preparation, and interpretative approaches to Mahler’s symphonic writing. Students worked with the Juilliard Orchestra on excerpts from Mahler Symphonies Nos. 1, 5, and 9.

The masterclass emphasized the balance between analytical clarity and emotional expression, with particular attention to rehearsal efficiency and communicating interpretative intent through gesture alone.

Week-long workshop exploring specialized techniques for contemporary music, including extended notation, aleatoric elements, and collaboration with living composers. Participants prepared and conducted works by John Adams, Kaija Saariaho, Thomas Adès, and Caroline Shaw.

The workshop culminated in a public concert featuring world premieres of student composer works, conducted by workshop participants under mentorship.

Professional development clinic for conductors working with youth orchestras, focusing on age-appropriate repertoire selection, effective rehearsal techniques for young players, and building engaging educational programs.

Topics included communicating musical concepts to developing musicians, balancing technical instruction with musical expression, and creating inclusive ensemble environments that foster both skill development and artistic growth.

Three-day residency including rehearsals, coachings, and lectures on orchestral conducting. Worked with the conservatory orchestra on standard repertoire while providing individual coaching sessions for conducting students.

Presented a public lecture on “Building a Conducting Career in the 21st Century,” discussing audition preparation, networking, and balancing artistic vision with practical career development. The residency concluded with a concert performance conducted by both guest artist and selected students.

Specialized seminar on the unique challenges of operatic conducting, including singer-conductor collaboration, recitative techniques, and balancing orchestral and vocal forces. Students worked on scenes from Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” and Verdi’s “La traviata.”

The seminar included coaching sessions with vocal students, emphasizing the conductor’s role as collaborative partner in supporting and enhancing vocal artistry while maintaining dramatic momentum.
